Burberry showcase first 3D show

The iconic British fashion label Burberry made history as it broadcasted the first catwalk show in 3D at this year’s London fashion Week, streaming its show to five simultaneous private events in New York, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo and Los Angeles, for those who could not attend. The front rows of the show was made up of a collection of A-list stars and industry insiders waiting in expectation for the show designer by Christopher Bailey who is creative head at Burberry.

The collection was a look back to Burberrys English heritage and history with coats in leather and sheepskin adorned with leather buckles and brass trimmings, as well as thigh high leather boots and textured dresses in old English colours of deep berry and moss green.

Christopher Bailer said of the show. “This unprecedented event will enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this show from around the world. 3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colours and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.”

Girly clothes – nudes and ruffle

This season with women’s clothing you can enhance your softer side with delicate pastel and nude colours and girly styles and materials. Nudes are big this season with blush pinks, creamy beige and pale caramels you need to pick the right shade to match your skin top but there are many options out there you will find one to suit no matter your skin type.

Flower corsages and flowery patters also mix well with this style for a girly look but you can contrast this style by mixing  light pastel dresses with tough sandals or a light top and military jacket to give your look an edge.

Couture hair

At Paris Haute Couture Week designers were showcasing the most extreme and creative fashion but also a chance for hair and makeup artists to show just how inventive they can be. As dresses and outfits were bold and brash so did the makeup which took on a loud, fantasy style as bold colour was used in a playful, make-believe ways and the hair matched with large over the top styles.

Chanel used the wonderland concept where hair was sculpted into oversized bouffant’s, laced with streaks of silvery white and adorned with a giant, fluffy bow for a modern Little Bo Peep style a look which can be recreated yourself using ghd uplift spray on your roots backcomb then hold in place with a hair band and frizz out the ends.

Givenchy’s styles were long, straight tresses that were given a natural looking texture, with movement running through the lengths of the locks, matched with centre straights partings and tucked behind the ears and pouring down the back. This is probably one of the most easy styles to recreate all you need to do is spray your hair with protector spray and using your ghd straightners iron your hair flat and smooth.

Smarten up your company work wear

If you work in the hospitality industry either in restaurants, bars or hotels sometimes you may find that your company work wear is not very stylish or flattering and a lot of times the style/size is one fits all for men and women. Many businesses choose to use their staff as walking advertisement not only to boost their profile but also make the staff easily identifiable by using t shirt printing on uniforms for their staff.

But sometimes the staff may need some better fitting and better style clothes to wear as their uniform, for women instead of a unisex baggy t-shirt a nice fitted women’s t-shirt or shirt would be better, would look smarter and improve staff morale. Places such as www.splashlogo.co.uk also offer digital transfer, embroidery, subli flock or DTG printing on clothing such as suits, shirts, aprons and great fitting tops, meaning there is something for everyone.

Fashion and Music

This year’s New York Fashion week has been a big test for two designers coming from music backgrounds rather than fashion, both Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani launch their autumn collections with both trying to prove they are here for the long haul on the fashion scene.

This is Victoria’s fourth season and she has developed a strong signature look, based upon her own personal style preferences, slim elegant lines and a keen attention to detail make up a lot of her collection. Gwen also proved to be a fashion force to be reckoned with, her designs also follow her personal style a mix of quirky cuts and futuristic styling, there was also a lot of key on trend styles on show such as pretty corsets and shoulder pads.

Lovely lace

Taking its props from Autumn/Winter lace was back on the catwalk with many designer clothing collections featuring it however moving on from the heavy Goth style lace to much lighter patterns lace is transformed for Spring/Summer. Taking up the pastel shades you can have a much more girly style with pretty light dresses with lace accents for a very feminine look.

For a contrast you can mix lace with denim to give it a more edgy look and take into consideration this seasons other big style denim and also utility mixing lace with the nude pieces seen on the catwalk. Women’s clothing is set for a feminine shake up so mixing key pieces together will keep you on track and shake up your wardrobe a bit.

Plaits

Many designers had hairstyles featuring plaits some scruffy and messed up or had material plaited in, some were wound around the base of a bun or sneaking into a swinging ponytail and then there were those taking centre stage in one long braid, whichever way you wear it plaits are both versatile and stylish.

To achieve a plaited up-do, spray ghd creation spray onto dry hair to hold the style, before creating two braids on each side and pulling them into a ponytail. Flip the pony back under itself and secure, making your hair look shorter and bouncier. Finally, tease strands out from the braids and pony.

If you want to try side plaits which are very of the moment then you can easily re create the catwalk looks by using ghd sea spray. Dry it into the hair to create a more matte texture or for the distressed look, spray sea spray into your hand and then run your fingers up the plait.

For a sleek centre plait you need to firstly make sure your hair is smooth and has no kinks in it so the best way to do this is using ghd straightners to straighten your hair once smooth plait the hair from you crown down to the tips for a long smooth plait.

Making waves with your hair

Luscious, rich wavy hair is a constant more classical hair trend as well as a fixture at most red carpet events, they can add a touch of vintage glamour to any occasion. Think of starlets past like Farah Fawcett and Bianca Jagger for inspiration as well as taking notes from some more modern feel waves from people like Cheryl Cole and Scarlett Johansson.

You can easily re create this look at home using your ghd hair straighteners, to start off with if you hair loses its hold quickly try using ghd elevation shampoo & ghd elevation conditioner to give your hair an added oomph. Before you dry also use a small amount of volumising moose at the roots, once your hair is fully dry using your hair straightners insert vertically at the roots, holding the ends of the hair with your free hand. Turn the styler around 180 degrees, gently and slowly pulling it down the hair lengths until you reach the ends.

Once finished, hold the look in place with hairspray and your look is complete.
