The stars of the hit movie The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 had the opportunity to show off their fashion sense during the film premiere. The hot young actors shunned teen vampire chic in favour of suits, accessories and altogether something a little more grown-up as they graced the black carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Leading man Robert Pattinson, who plays sultry and misunderstood young vampire Edward Cullen in the movie, wore a smart suit by Gucci in charcoal, teamed with this season’s essential skinny black tie.

Co-star Kellan Lutz, who plays Edward’s adoptive brother Emmett Cullen, cut a fine figure in a black suit and tie. Man-of-the-moment, Taylor Lautner, who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the film, scored high in the style stakes, wearing a navy blue suit accompanied by a tie in dark red. Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Cullen, did not follow the crowd with the sharp tailored look, opting instead for a red velvet suit by celebrity favourite Dolce and Gabanna, worn with a black vest top and accessories.

Calvin Klein sell a variety of different designer clothing items for men, but are probably most well known for their underwear collections. They offer various designs, including briefs, trunks and shorts, in different fabrics, colours, lengths, styles and even ones with special technologies, to give you a wide choice to select from.

The underwear can be figure-hugging in all the right places to provide great comfort, style and shape. The designs are modern, sexy, fashionable and manly, and can be worn by all different types of men. Most of them come in black or white, sometimes the latter with a grey strap band, but all feature the Calvin Klein word logo across the top. This is an iconic design amongst men worldwide. A wide range of other colours is also available.

One of their popular advertising campaigns featured famous footballer David Beckham modelling a pair. Marky Mark was the original model for the company and featured on various black-and-white posters.

The brand is available all over the world, so it is fairly easy to get hold of. You can purchase their products online via the official Calvin Klein website, but many high street stores and other web-based retailers also stock them. They sell many other items, including shirts, jackets, coats, denim, sportswear, knitwear, suits, t-shirts, watches and more, although the underwear and fragrance lines are most common in Europe.

Denim has been around virtually forever. The fabric is said to have originated in Nimes, France in the Middle Ages. ‘Serge de Nimes’ was ultimately Americanised to ‘denim’ and officially recognized by inclusion in Webster’s 1864 dictionary.

The classic blue denim is fabricated by interweaving indigo (blue) and white threads. Levi Strauss made history with it during the gold rush, patenting Jacob Davies design for denim pants with copper riveted pockets.

From its rugged working class origins in the American West, denim travelled from cowboy culture to popular culture in the 1950’s, with a little help from Hollywood icons like James Dean.

The 60’s and 70’s redefined jeans and denim in general, bringing it into a fashion context with new designs and embellishments like lace, embroidery, appliqué, and fringe. An entire generation grew up in denim jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts, jackets, purses, hats and shoes.

Trends and styles have varied over the years but denim never really seems to disappear from the fashion landscape entirely. Every few years there is a resurgence of interest; we have seen pre washed, stone-washed, acid-washed, sandblasted and stretch and vintage denim trends come and go. Yet, each season it is reinvented by someone in a new guise.

Right now white and coloured denims are hot, along with rolled cuffs, denim leggings, long skirts, wide legs and bell bottoms. Mid-rise and high-waisted styles are reappearing, while the distressed/patchwork look was featured in Ralph Lauren’s spring/summer collection and again in Chloe’s 2012 autumn/winter line. Obviously this versatile fabric is going to be with us for a long time to come.

40 Years of Luxury
How does one properly celebrate 40 years? For Mulberry, the quintessentially English luxury fashion brand known for its handbags and leather goods, the only proper way to celebrate such a milestone is to publish an autobiography and throw a fabulous pool party in the desert.

The book, simply titled Mulberry, is a compilation of photos taken over the past three years by Venetia Dearden. The 480 glossy photos that make up the content of the book consist of behind the scenes shots taken at the company’s Somerset factory, shops, shows, and after-parties. There are also a few shots of Mulberry’s classic handbags for good measure, including shots of the classic Bayswater. The book also contains an introduction that outlines the history of Mulberry starting with its founding in 1971 and memories of its founder, Roger Saul.

Mulberry was not the only way that the company celebrated its 40th anniversary. Mulberry also celebrated the occasion with a celebration that took place in Palm Springs, California at a chic hotel. It was held during the famous Coachella Music Festival, a hip music festival that takes place in the California desert. With the likes of Nicole Ritchie, Alexa Chung, and Eliza Doolittle on hand to celebrate, it was truly a star-studded affair. Such a turn out proves that even after 40 years, luxury never goes out of style.

When our magazines, news pages and TV screens are filled with amazingly dressed celebrities, sometime the green eyed monster comes out in all of us, wishing we could have the same wardrobes, or just a fraction of them, ourselves. However fear not there is a way to achieve this without having to flash the cash, you can create an ‘A’ list style with designer clothing for less.

The internet has made looking for bargains quick and simple, no longer do you need to search endless charity shops in the hope someone has given away a designer dress, or wait for end of season sales on the highstreet that offer 75% off discounts on out of season clothing. The internet has a wealth of information, which means you can easily find the best deals available, such as where to get top designer labels for cheap or where to get your favourite higher end brands such as fcuk and Duck and Cover from at really great prices.

Even your everyday value highstreet shops are getting in on the action with their own takes on top designer pieces so you can still achieve they look only without the designer label but at least without the designer price tag.

So it won’t be long before your rocking your favourite look of your favourite ‘A’ lister!

Paris may have wrapped up the 2011 couture show and put it on the shelves of the fashion industry, but not before the Haute Joaillerie day displayed the brilliance and extravagance of the largest jewellery and fashion houses.

Painstaking laser design turned Chanel’s signature Camellia into a swirling mass of arabesques in diamonds, pearls and white gold, while Chanel’s trip to Venice, after her lover Boy Capel’s death, was recreated in an articulated necklace of rubies, pink sapphires and emeralds.

Van Cleef & Arpel reinterpreted the Zip necklace that was originally sketched out by the Duchess of Windsor in 1938. The modern day re-creation is a collection of necklaces, which are variously studded with diamonds, emeralds, lapis lazuli, pearls, sapphires, onyx and turquoise.

The House of Boucheron delved once more into the creature world, both real and imaginary. Joining the signature Adam snake were ruby-eyed swan rings, dragons, Pegasus, scarabs and pandas. A brilliant body carved from rose quartz was moulded into a jellyfish, and a 7-carat gem lies captured in the paws of a yellow sapphire lion.

Gripoix, who initially came to fame producing vrai-faux jewellery for Chanel, continues its modern day reinvention with rocker-style carbon chains, a red flower poured from glass, and an Aqua cuff bracelet inspired by the sea. Look for their jewellery on next year’s catwalks if this year’s rumours prove to be true.

Fabergé featured the Mazurka bracelet from their high jewellery collection. The bracelet weight is 30.58 carats and is set with 1,409 diamonds.

Most seasons the denim jacket hovers to the back of fashion trends, however for spring/summer 2011 its coming to the forefront as one of the must have items. Many celebrities have been seen sporting a denim jacket for their everyday, casual wear and even glamed up for an evening.

You can add a denim jacket to any outfit this season without worrying if it will work or not, even with denim shorts, skirt and jeans, as the double denim look is certainly in as seen on some of the catwalks. We have looked at teaming it with spring/summer must have items such as chino trousers, maxi skirts and ripped denim and denim jacket works brilliantly with these options.

For fitted jackets, a blouse works perfect underneath, one with a bow detail such as the one featured below gives a dressier edge to the outfit, and we have added a maxi skirt to keep it on trend, and flats for an evening look, perfect for a few drinks with friends. Adding accessories will also highlight denim jacket and compliment your outfit too so don’t be afraid to add a scarf or hat, especially while the weather is cool.

One of the trends of last year, which is carrying over to this season, is the ankle boot or short boot. The boot sits at ankle height or just above the anklebone. Though the fashionistas seem to prefer the high-heeled ankle boot, the flat boots with embellishments is climbing up the popularity charts.

However, now that you have your Dolce Vita Flash Bootie or your Minnetonka Tramper, it is important to know the dos and don’ts of wearing ankle boots:

For everyday wear, stick to the flat ankle boots and save the show-stopping high heeled versions for night-time. Nevertheless, regardless of heel height, watch the proportion. Avoid the fuller skirts and instead pair them with skinny jeans, leggings, tights and short dresses and skirts you have in your wardrobe.

Another important factor is the rise proportion to a dress or skirt. The rule of thumb is the higher the rise of the boot, the shorter the dress or skirt should be. If the skirt or dress seems too short, throw on a pair of leggings. Naturally, with skinny jeans, leggings and tights, any of the rise proportions work well and there is nothing to worry about.

Boots of any height are cool additions to any wardrobe, but the savvy shopper will make sure her shoe collection contains a stunning pair of ankle boots. Ankle boots are a great way to draw the eye to a magnificent pair of legs, and they are terrific all-year round, making a chic fashion statement for anyone.
